Bring a Ray of Sunshine into Your Home with a Yellow Window Blind
If you are thinking of a bright yellow roller blind for the home then we would take a guess that it is probably a kitchen or bathroom blind you are looking for. If you think of where your blind would have some accentuating and matching coloured objects then in the kitchen there are lots of yellow objects such as bananas, peppers, grapefruit, mustard and egg yolk. In the bathroom the traditional rubber duck, if you have one, can be the starting point of your colour themes which with a waterproof or water resistant fabric can be extended to matching towels, toothbrushes and even a loofa.
Lots of people would probably be very cautious about using a yellow roller blind in other rooms in the home, but there are soft, light and pale shades that won’t jump out at you like a warning sign or hazard markings. Yellow roller blinds could be used in a nursery or child’s bedroom suitable for both boys and girls colour schemes and if it was a blackout blind that was fitted then even though the yellow would give a bright panel of colour to the room, during the day and at night the blackout fabric would keep out a lot of visible light making the room nice and dark for sleeping if the light was turned off. A bright yellow blind in a boys bedroom would go well with a poster of a supercar or Hummer or football team of the same colour. A polka dot or spotted design might look good in a girls bedroom and may match up with a favourite clothing item from a 90s inspired wardrobe.
If you are looking for a window blind to brighten up a living room or a dining room then a pale rather than a bright yellow would possibly be better. More likely you will be looking for a patterned roller blind so that the yellow is toned down by other contrasting and complementary colours, such as green, blue or red. Floral patterned or striped roller blinds are probably the most commonly available and so will give you the widest range of choice, but you may also come across other pattern types, such as paisley, if you look hard enough. Anyone looking for an energy saving blind is probably looking for a solar reflective fabric to keep a room from overheating due to solar gain in strong sunlight, perhaps in a conservatory or sun lounge.
Yellow roller blinds are often used in care homes and hospitals to brighten up the environment and mood of all building users. Specifiers for commercial projects in public environments like these will be careful to select fire retardant or anti-bacterial materials where these properties are important or required by regulations or codes of practice.
